Prior to this album Moore's work had consisted of predominantly jazz-fusion with Colosseum II and rock and hard rock styles including his work with Skid Row, Thin Lizzy, G-Force as well as a large repertoire of solo work. Proving once again that tone is in your fingers, Gary Moore made the Les Paul/Marshall combo that is so prevalent sound all his own. His main rig was a Les Paul Standard coupled with a Marshall JMP of random wattage depending on the gig. On occasion you would also see Gary playing an American Fender Stratocaster when he felt like getting a bit more into the Texas blues sound. Gary was first seen using this guitar during the Thin Lizzy 1979 Black Rose Tour. According to Gary, the guitar used to belong to Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols. Gary Moore at No.73, 1987 Unfortunately at this time, not much is known about the guitar. Gary likely got it between mid and late 1978, when he. He started off in the band Thin Lizzy, and released some great hard rock solo albums in the eighties. His big breakthrough happened in 1990 with the album Still Got The Blues which launched a blues guitar fashion and exposed Moore’s incredible finesse and tone.
